Mullu Murukku
Mullu murukku or Moong dal murukku is very simple to make.
Ingredients - Mullu Murukku
Rice flour - 1 1/2 cup
Urad dal flour - 1/2 cup ( ulundha maavu )
Gram dal flour - 1/2 cup ( kadalai maavu )
Moong dal - 2 tbsp.
or
Moong dal flour - 1/2 cup ( payatham maavu )
Cumin seed - 1/2 tsp
Butter - 2 cubes
Salt, Oil
Chilli pdr ( optional )
Method - Mullu Murukku
1. Mix all flours, salt, cumin seed well. Dry fry them till fried aroma arises from the flour ( ON LOW FLAME ).
2. Once it reaches room temperature add butter and knead the dough with required water.
3. Fill the dough into the mullu murukku maker (slide having star hole will suit for making mullu murukku )
4. Heat the frying oil, once it is hot, slow the flame to medium, squeeze the dough filled maker in a circular motion just above the oil.
5. Fry both sides till it turns brown.
6. now Mullu murukku / dal murukku is ready to enjoy.
