chick peas korma - chole / chana kurma - sundal kurma recipe

Ingredients

chcik peas - 1 cup ( soaked in water over night or 8 hours )
butter - 1/2 tsp ( optional )

To grind

coconut - 1 cup
tomato - 1
garlic - 7 
ginger - small size
onion - 1/2 cup
dry chili - 2
cardamom - 1
cumin seed - 1 tsp
cinnmon - small size
cloves - few
fennel seed pdr - 1/2 tsp
turmeric - pinch

For seasoning

mustard seed - 1/2 tsp
cumin seed - 1/2 tsp
pepper - 1/2 tsp

Method

1. Pressure cook the chickpeas for 6 pressure sounds - set it aside.
2. Heat a pan with a tsp of oil and saute all the ingredients under ' To grind '. Grind this mixture to a fine paste. Set it aside. SEE VIDEO - 
3. Heat a pan  - add 2 tsp of oil and add seasoning ingredients. - allow it to pop - Then add cooked chickpeas and ground masal paste.
4. Add salt and butter ( butter is optional ) - let it boil for 5 minutes.
5. Garnish it with cilantro and serve it with roti, chapati, idly, dosa
