Muttai kuzhambu / Egg kulambu / Egg curry recipe - South Indian recipe
This egg kuzhambu is a delicious and traditional South Indian Recipe. It suits well with idly, dosa, and rice
Ingredients - muttai kulambu
Boiled egg - 6
Raw egg - 1
Onion chopped - 1/2 cup
Garlic cloves - 6
Tomato - 2
To Grind - muttai kulambu
Dry chili - 7
Coriander seeds - 1 1/2 tsp
Cashews - 5
Poppy seeds / kasa kasa - 1 tsp
Fennel seeds / sombu - 1 tsp\
Pepper - 1/2 tsp
Coconut - 1/4 cup
For Seasoning - muttai kulambu
Mustard seed - 1 tsp
Cumin seed - 1/2 tsp
Fennel seed - 1/2 tsp
Method - muttai kulambu
1. Make small slits on boiled eggs and set it aside.
2. In a kadai heat a tsp of oil and roast all the ingredients under ' To Grind '- Poppy seeds should be added at the final stage of roasting as it burnt easily. - Grind it to a fine paste - Set aside
3. In a kadai heat 2 tsp of oil and add seasoning ingredients - At the time of spluttering saute garlic , onion, tomato one by one till it blends well. SEE VIDEO
4. Now you can add ground masala paste with sauted onions and add required water , salt. Let it boil for 10 minutes. Once it has boiled pour the raw egg into this curry. Don't stir it up by now as the egg yellow's smell spreads all over the kulambu. Wait for 5 minutes till it gets cooked.
5. After 5 minutes you can add boiled eggs and let it boil for 5 more minutes. Now this muttai kulambu / egg curry is ready to serve.
