Prawn cuury/ Shrimp curry recipe - Eraal kuzhambu ( with video )

Prawn kulambu /iraal kuzhambu recipe

We can serve this eraal kulambu with idly, dosa, rice and even with chapati

Ingredients - prawn curry / iraal kulambu

prawn - 200 g
tomato - 1
onion - 1/2 cup
garlic - 1/4 cup
ginger - small piece
coconut - 1/4 cup
dry chili pdr - 1 1/2 tsp
coriander pdr - 2 tsp
cardamom, turmeric powder - pinch
fennel seed powder - 1/2 tsp
cinnamon, cloves - few
mint leaves - 1/4 cup

For Seasoning -  prawn curry / iraal kulambu

urad dal - 1/2 tsp
mustard seed - 1/2 tsp
cumin - 1/2 tsp
pepper - 10 to 12

Method -  prawn curry / iraal kulambu

1. Make 2 equal parts with onion and garlic 
2 . Heat kadai with a tsp of oil and saute one part of onion and garlic till it turns tender
3. Add ginger, coconut, tomato, mint leaves , spice powders, cinnamon, cloves - sauté this mixture - Grind it once it cools - set it aside
4. Heat a kadai with 2 tsp of oil and add seasoning ingredients. - once it splutters sauté other part of onion, garlic
5. Now add prawn with sautéed onions - then add ground masala mixture and let it cook for 10 minutes. Add salt before it starts boiling. add coriander leaves  - Now you can serve it.
