soya chunk masala / soya ball recipe

Soy chunk masala

Ingredients - soya chunk masala

soya chunks - 2 cups ( soaked in water for 30 minutes )
onion chopped - 1
chili pdr, - 1 tsp
coriander pdr - 1 tsp
garam masal pdr - 1 tsp
fennel seed pdr - 1/2 tsp
turmeric pdr - pinch
sugar - 1/2 tsp
lemon juice - 1 tsp

 Seasonings - soya chunk masala

mustard seed - 1 tsp
cumin seed - 1/2 tsp

To grind- soya chunk masala

tomato - 1
coconut pieces - 4 to 5
garlic 6
ginger - small piece

Method - soya chunk masala

1. Squeeze out water from soaked soya so that it won't release water while cooking.
2. Grind the ingredients under  'To Grind' - set aside
3.  Add 2 tsp of oil in a kadai and add seasoning ingredients - once it splutters sauté onions
4. Now add soya and all spices with sautéed onions - add salt and 1/2 tsp of sugar. Sugar gives mild sweet taste to this masala.
5. Add required water for cooking and allow it cook for 10 minutes on medium flame
6. Let the left over water dries up & garnish it with cilantro
