Ingredients - Banana stem raita
Banana stem - 1 ( small size, choose young stem )
Chopped onion - 1/4 cup
Ginger - 2 inch in size
Green chilli - 1
Finely chopped curry leaves - 1 tsp
Cumin seed - 1/2 tsp
Pomegranate fruit seeds - 2 tbsp
How to clean banana stem - Banana stem raita
1. Cut the banana stem into thin discs gently. As you do this you will notice that fibers do not let the disc separate from the larger chunk. With your index finger , remove those fibers using a circular motion. Cut into small pieces or small cubes. Put these chopped banana stem into a bowl of diluted butter milk or into the water which contain 2 to 3 drops of lemon.
Method - Banana stem raita
1. Mix curd, ginger, cumin seeds, green chilli . Grind them in a mixer grinder. Now pour this prepared curd with the chopped banana stem ( discard the lemon water ). Add salt, chopped onion, chopped curry leaves and pomagranate seeds. Now valaithandu thayir pachadi is ready. You can serve this banana raita with any biryani
