How to brew green tea leaves

( Lemon flavored green tea )

Ingredients - How to brew green tea leaves

Green tea leaves - 1 tsp
Jaggery - small cube
     ( or )
Sugar - 1 1/2 tsp
Lemon - 3 or 4 drops

Method - How to brew green tea leaves

If you are using  jaggery to make green tea ,  use 1/2 cup of water to dissolve jaggery and another 1/2 cup of water to brew green tea to make a cup of green tea. But in case you are using sugar no need of these above partitions. You can use a cup of water to brew the green tea and dissolve sugar in the same cup by mixing the sugar using a spoon. In this video I'm using jaggery.

1. Heat 1/2 cup of water till the small bubbles begins to appear at the sides and the bottom of the pot.  Now pour this hat water to a tea cup and add a tsp of green tea leaves. Close it with a cover and let it sit for 2 minutes. After 2 minutes, drain and pour the green tea water in a separate cup.( if the water temperature is too hot, the green tea will be too bitter, if the water temperature is too cool, the full flavor contained in the leaves will not be extracted. Too long a steeping time will also result in more bitterness.)

2. In another pot, heat other 1/2 cup of water and dissolve jaggery till it melts totally. Remove any impurities left with jaggery syrup with a strainer and mix both green tea water and jaggery water. Mix 3 to 4 drops of lemon with green tea and enjoy.
