Pudalankai kadalai poriyal / snake gourd curry
Ingredients - Pudalankai kadalai poriyal / snake gourd curry
Chopped snake gourd - 1
Onion - 1/4 cup
Curry leaves
Turmeric pdr - pinch
Chilli pdr - 1/2 tsp
Bengal gram / kadalai paruppu - 3 tbsp ( soake in water for 1 hour in advance )
Grated coconut - 2 tbsp
Mustard seed - 3/4 tsp
Urad dal - 1/4 tsp
Method - Pudalankai kadalai poriyal / snake gourd curry
1. Cook bengal gram for 10 minutes in a pan or pressure cook for 2 sounds. Set aside.
2. Heat a kadai with 2 tsp of oil, add mustard seed, urad dal. Once it splutters saute onion, curry leaves , chopped snake gourd for 2 minutes. Sprinkle some water to cook, add chilli pdr. Let it cook for 7 to 10 minutes on low flame with closed pan. Do not add salt with raw vegetables. Add salt just before to turn off the stove. Dry up if any water left out with cooked snake gourd.
3. Finally add cooked gram dal and grated coconut . Now Pudalankai kadalai poriyal / snake gourd curry is ready to serve.
