Rava kichadi / sooji kichadi

Ingredients - Rava kichadi / sooji kichadi

Suji rawa - 1 cup
Water for 1 cup of rawa - 3 cups
Beans - 3/4 cup
Carrot - 1/2 cup
Onion - 1
Tomato - 1
Mustard seed - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
Green chilli - 1
Curry leaves
Turmeric powder - pinch

Method - Rava kichadi / sooji kichadi

1. Dry fry the suji rava on low flame, Do not increase the flame as it get burnt easily. Keep it aside.

2. Heat a kadai with 3 tsp of oil, Crackle mustard seed and urad dal. Then saute onion, green chilli all vegetables till it turns tender. Finally add tomatoes and stir it till blends well.

3. Now boil water ( you need 3 cups of water for a cup of rawa ) to cook rawa and vegetables. Use the same cup for measuring water in which you measured suji rava. Add turmeric powder with boiling water.

4. When the water is boiling, add rava slowly as you are stirring it continuously to avoid forming lumps.

5. Let it cook on low flame till it is done completely. It will take 3 to 5 minutes.

6. Adding ghee is optional, but it gives awesome flavour to this rava kichadi. 

7. You can serve this rava kichadi with any chutney or sambar.
