Jaggery rice puttu
( sweet rice puttu )
Ingredients - Jaggery rice puttu
Idiyappam flour or kozhukattai flour - 2 cup
Jaggery - 1 cup
Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
Cardamom pdr - 3/4 tsp
Method - Jaggery rice puttu
1. In a wide bowl mix idiyappam flour and cardamom powder.
2. Boil 2 cups of water to make puttu flour. Now add this hot water slowly with flour and mix it by a ladle until you get wet flour. If you hold this flour tightly in your palm, you can shape it like kolukattai and it must get loose when you give a gentle pressure over it. This is the right consistency.
3. Now sieve this flour using puttu sieve
4. In a hot idly pan spread this wet puttu flour and let it cook for 5 minutes on high flame.Transfer this cooked puttu to a bowl and set aside.
5. By this time keep your jaggery ready. Add very little water with jaggery and allow it to boil till it melts.
6. Add this melted jaggery with cooked puttu and mix it well. Finally garnish it with grated coconut.
7. Now you and your family can enjoy this sweet rice puttu.
