Onion pakora - vengaya pakoda - evening snack recipes

Onion pakora - Tea time snack

Ingredients

chopped onion - 1(sliced thinly)
besan flour - gram flour- chick pea flour - 150 g
finely chopped curry leaves - few
chili pdr - 1 tsp
turmeric - pinch
coriander pdr - pinch
egg white - optional - 1

Preparation

1.Add gram flour, chili pdr, salt, coriander pdr, egg white, turmeric pdr, and curry leaves to sliced onions.
2. Add water little by little and mix it to a thick consistency. ( don't add more water as the onion releases water later. So that your batter becomes too watery.)
3. Now heat the oil in a deep frying pan. Take a spoonful of onion batter and add it in the oil. ( your stove should be in low flame ) Fry onion pakora till you get golden brown colour.
4. Serve it with tomato ketchup.
