Ingredients for marinating
Prawns ( shrimp ) - 1/2 kg
Chili pdr - 1 tsp
Corn flour - 2 tsp
Rice rava or sooji or semolina - 1 tsp
Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
Salt
Lemon - 2 tsp
Egg white - 1
Ingredients for Manchurian gravy
Fried prawns
Chopped onion - 1/4 cup
Chopped garlic - 1/4 cup
Coriander leaves
Tomato ketchup - 1/2 cup
Soy sauce - 3 tsp
Corn flour - 1 tsp
Chili pdr - 1/4 tsp
Salt, oil
Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
Preparation
1. Prawns should not be watery while marinating.( If it is so be when deep frying it will absorb more oil ). In a pan, add prawns after cleaning and cook it in low flame only for 5 minutes. At this time prawns expels water and it will become thicker. Now strain the excess water.
2. In a bowl, add strained prawns with all the ingredients for marinating. Don't add water for marinating.
3. Cover it and let it sit for about 1 hour
4. After 1 hour, deep fry all the prawns till you get golden brown colour. Shift it into a bowl and keep aside.
5. In another bowl mix tomato ketchup, soy sauce, corn flour, chili pdr, salt, ginger garlic paste without any lumps. Add little water with it.
6. In a pan add 2 tsp of oil and saute garlic, onion ( get brown colour ).
7. With this onion, garlic add tomato ketchup mixture and let it boil for 5 minutes. Now you can add fried prawns and mix it well.
8. Prawn manchurian is ready to serve with naan, chapati.
