Cabbage kootu recipe
You can have this kootu with sambar rice, rasam rice
Ingredients
Cabbage chopped - 1 cup
Onion - 1/2
Green chili - 1
Moong dal - 3 tbsp - ( pasi paruppu )
Grated coconut - 3 tsp
Dry chili pdr - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric pdr - pinch
Cumin seed - 1 tsp
Method
1. We need 2 pressure sounds for cooking moong dal and single sound for cabbage. So pressure cook the moong dal for single pressure sound.
2. Now open the cooker and add cabbage, chili pdr, onion, green chili, turmeric pdr with partially cooked moong dal. Let it cook for another sound.
3. Take a kadai - add a tsp of oil and add cumin seeds - Once it splutter, add cooked dal cabbage mixture - add salt - let it boil for 5 minutes.
4. Then turn off the stove - add grated coconut. Serve this cabbage kootu with rasam rice.
