Kothamalli chutney - Coriander leaves chutney - breakfast chutney recipe - kathamba chutney

Kothamalli chutney - Coriander leaves chutney - breakfast chutney recipe - easy chutney recipe - kadamba chutney

Kadhambam means mixture. In this kadamba chutney I am using different combinations of ingredients. This is the best south indian side dish for idly and dosa.

Ingredients

Coconut - 7 to 8 pieces
Coriander leaves - small bundle
Tomato - 2
Green chili - 2
Tamarind - small pulp
Asafoetida - hing - pinch
Garlic - 5 cloves
Onion - 1/4 cup
Urud dal - 2 tsp
Mustard - 1 tsp

method

1. Add mustard and urad dal in hot oil  - let it splutter
2. When urud dal begins to change its colour add garlic, onions and hing - saute it till it turns to light brown colour. If the urud dal burnt, it leaves light bitter taste with chutney. So keep the flame low when you are adding garlic and onions.
3. Now add all other ingredients and saute till the contents blend well.
4. After cooling it down for room temperature you can grind it with salt
5. Now you can serve it with hot idly or dosa
