Maida biscuits - shankarpali /shakkarpara
For making Diwali sweets in large quantities these butter maida biscuits are the best choice.
Ingredients - maida biscuit
maida / all purpose flour - 1 cup
sugar - 3/4 cup
butter - 2 tbsp.
milk - 1/2 cup ( to knead the dough )
salt - pinch
Method - maida biscuit
1. Grind the sugar into powder
2. In a wide pot add flour, ground sugar, butter, pinch of salt ( salt taste should not over come sugar taste ), - Then knead the dough by adding milk slowly- Dough should get chapatti dough consistency.
3. Let it sit for 30 minutes
4. Now make big lemon sized balls from the dough and roll it like chapatti, Make thick rotis.
5. With a knife cut it into small square pieces - set it aside
6. Deep fry these cubes till it turns brown - It seems very soft when you take out from the oil, but when it comes to room temperature it would be like soft butter biscuit.
